Policy Changes Needed to Accelerate Distributed Generation in Southeast Europe
Distributed generation technology enables customers to generate, store, consume, and, potentially sell excess power they produce. Most often this is accomplished using increasingly inexpensive solar panels mounted on residential and commercial rooftops. Distributed generation technology holds the potential to lower the cost of electricity, improve reliability and meet climate change goals. Distribution system experts from the United States and Southeast Europe will discuss models for accelerating integration of distributed generation and introduce a set of policy and regulatory actions needed to do so.
