As stakeholders in independent film, we all know that the delicate ecosystem of filmmakers, distributors, exhibitors, investors, public media, and nonprofits that historically developed independent fare and delivered it to audiences is buckling under the weight of an increasingly consolidated media landscape. In this first-of-its-kind Town Hall, the Future Film Coalition will introduce our mission and membership structure. This brief presentation will be followed by facilitated breakout groups, in the spirit of a town hall, for us all to discuss the priorities that each branch of the Future Film Coalition could address through research, policy monitoring, and government advocacy at local and federal levels.
