The business items include the election of the president and an introduction of the Young People’s Literature Award recipient. In addition, we will have remarks from a senior AAUW staff member. Afterwards, Ajla Glavasevic Lausseger will discuss Generative AI: The Evolution of Machine Learning and Why It Matters. Ajla works as the Deputy Counsel & Global Diversity Officer for Quaker Houghton and presented this topic at the AAUW Atlantic Regional Conference in September of 2024. Her presentation will review what artificial intelligence is, how it can impact women and girls, the way it will force an evolution of advocacy, and how we may need to renew our efforts.
