Voices from the Holy Land Online Film Salon: "Living with Zionism: Israel, Palestine and the United States"
Date & Time

Selected Sessions:

Mar 16, 2025 03:00 PM

Description
While the ideology of Zionism has a long history, its manifestations today have resulted in severe injustices in Israel, Palestine, and the United States. - In Israel, a Nation State law has produced scenes of apartheid reminiscent of 1930’s Germany and Jim Crow America. - In the occupied West Bank, fanatical Zionist settlers live under civil laws, while Palestinians live under harsh military rule. - In the United States, college administrators expel antizionist student protestors, labeling them “anti-Semitic,” while Christian Zionists send millions in tax-free dollars to Israeli “charities” and support local, state, and federal laws that threaten Americans’ First Amendment rights. Our Israeli, Palestinian, and American panelists will discuss the consequences of Zionism on the lives of ordinary people in the Holy Land. Register below and join us on March 16 at 3:00 PM Eastern for a discussion of the impacts of Zionism on people's lives with: - Amira Musallam: Palestinian Christian peace activist from Beit Jalla and member of the Unarmed Civilian Protection team in Palestine - Odeliya Matter: former Israeli resident and college graduate and now program staff at Friends Committee on National Legislation in Washington DC - Mimi Kirk: author and Associate Director and Adjunct Faculty in the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, Georgetown University Our moderator will be Seth Morrison, JVPAction board member and former Zionist.
