Gearing up for school openings: How a focus on mathematical thinking prepares students to get back on track
In this session we discuss the processes mathematicians use habitually in problem solving, such as spotting patterns, making conjectures, looking at special cases, and generalising. These mathematical powers are central to the Mathematics Mastery curriculum, and we look at how tasks can be orchestrated to encourage all students to develop their mathematical thinking.
