Focus on Families:Engaging Families in Your OST Program
The research is clear. Programs with a strong family engagement focus have better outcomes for students that similarly funded and attended programs without family engagement. That means there is a good reason to focus on families. However, there are natural challenges to creating a strong family component for out of school time programs. In this 3 part series, Calvalyn Day will walk you through creating a family engagement program that will support your program for years to come.

Connecting with families of varying ethnic, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds isn’t just a nice thing to have, it’s essential. Using strategies that are research based that have been successfully implemented in programs across the country, you will leave with a family engagement plan you can use right now. Whether you’re new to OST programming or just need some new tools, this series and The Collaborative Care Framework will prepare you for family engagement in 2021 and beyond.

Come prepared to gain strategies for your biggest family engagement challenges. This webinar is best viewed on a laptop or desktop computer. Strategies provided will include tools for in-person, digital and community based participation. This series is presented by the Indiana Afterschool Network.
