Java, HTML, & Math: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Programming
CodeHS is a comprehensive platform to teach CS and programming courses, but did you know that you can combine programming languages and even create interdisciplinary content in one class? In this workshop, you will learn about strategies to use CodeHS to combine topics like Bootstrap and Java to create math study guides. Join CodeHS Teacher Trainer Carmen Bryson to learn more about this innovative use for engaging and inspiring students using CodeHS!

Carmen Bryson is a Math and Computer Science teacher at Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Ohio. She teaches AP Computer Science A, Data Science, and an array of math classes. Carmen found CodeHS when she was trying to incorporate Computer Science into her math lessons and became a fan of CodeHS when introduced to Karel the dog. The creative activities and lessons with Karel the dog made learning to code so easy, and she even used CodeHS to get back up to speed with programming to obtain her Computer Science Teacher’s License. Carmen enjoys traveling in her free time.
