MELISSA PRITCHARD is the fiction editor for Image and the author of nine books of fiction, an essay collection, and a biography. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Flannery O’Connor and Carl Sandburg Awards, the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize, the Barnes and Noble “Discover” Prize, an NEA, and three Pushcart and two O.Henry Prizes. Her award-winning stories have appeared in over seventy journals, including The Paris Review, Ploughshares, Ecotone, The Georgia Review, A Public Space, STORY, and Agni. Her nonfiction has appeared in Conjunctions, The Wilson Quarterly, The Nation, The Gettysburg Review, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, and O, The Oprah Magazine.
