Our quarterly Stargazing Parties are gatherings of Justice Funders Network members that take place near the solstices and equinoxes. These gatherings are spaces for embodied learning, healing, community connection, and collective action. Each event has a different theme. Some include dialogue with invited guests, others are spaces to learn embodiment and somatic healing practices, others are spaces of political formation on issues we have collectively identified as important. We are co-creating these spaces with you based on your interests and passions! We hope you will come to as many as possible, get to know other members, and build community. We encourage people attending to plan to keep their videos on and participate actively. We tend not to screen share so the space can have more of a community feel and we can see and engage with each other. The sessions are generally not recorded for several reasons; we want these events to be highly participatory and the learning to be dialogic, we want to emphasize community-building, and we want to create a safe container where folks are comfortable speaking about challenging topics and being vulnerable. At this upcoming Stargazing Party, we will root ourselves in the energy of the transition from winter to spring- the gradual emerging from solitude into community, the stirring of new beginnings, the feeling of coming alive, the shifting of seed dreaming into intention setting. We will focus on practices and rituals of self-care that are appropriate for the spring season and on the ways in which, as we emerge from the cold and darkness of winter, we can reach out to one another and create intentional communities of care to sustain us in the year ahead.
