The anatomy is clear, and the rhythm is perfect but is the function normal? Heart failure, by definition, is the heart's inability to provide blood for the body’s needs, easily identified by cardiomegaly, valvular regurgitation and finally hydrops. But by then, its already too late.
The normal heart goes through a long phase of subclinical cardiac dysfunction before failing and the main objective of this talk is to identify that phase. The normal physiology, the adaptive mechanisms, common clinical conditions that strain the heart and the tools to identify them will be dealt with in this webinar on cardiac function.
