Joy & Justice Book Club is a ministry of The Congregational Church, UCC in Tryon, NC, open to all.
Our next book will be "White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism" by Robin DiAngelo. We will begin discussing the book, several chapters at a time, starting on Thursday, June 18th at 9 AM.
Our reading schedule is:
- June 18: Introduction, Chapters 1 & 2
- June 25: Chapters 3 & 4
- July 2: Chapters 5 & 6
- July 9: Chapters 7 & 8
- July 16: Chapters 9 & 10
- July 23: Chapters 11 & 12
We also encourage you to start reading some of the past books our book club has read, including: "Just Mercy" by Bryan Stevenson, "The New Jim Crow" by Michelle Alexander, "Dear Church: A Love Letter from a Black Preacher to the Whitest Denomination in America" by Lenny Duncan, and "How To Be An Anti-Racist" by Ibram X. Kendi.
