Program Description:

Building a Board of Directors from diverse backgrounds provides a variety of perspectives, experiences, and networks; all of which make you stronger and more effective. Please join the AFP Hampton Roads Chapter on Tuesday, February 28 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm as Vivian Oden, Vice President of Equity and Inclusion at the Hampton Roads Community Foundation walks us through a framework for building a diverse and inclusive board by fostering meaningful and genuine connections in the community.

Vivian Oden is the Vice president for Equity and Inclusion at the Hampton Roads Community Foundation where she leads the foundation in its racial equity work. Since taking on her current role, she helped to implement a racial equity plan and dashboard, established a Racial Equity Advisory Council, developed events educating the community on housing, educational and health disparities, and strategized with local nonprofits to support their racial equity work.
