All women gatekeepers are invited to this pivotal meeting on ‘No fault divorce’ (NFD). Although this is a ladies-only meeting, men are encouraged to invite their spouses and daughters to attend.
The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) recently engaged the public on a proposal to allow “ No fault divorce.” The purpose is to reduce acrimony in divorce proceedings. The NFD clause allows divorce by mutual consent instead of the current adversarial approach, pitting a plaintiff against a defendant. The intention is not to make divorce easier. Is this true? Furthermore, would there be less acrimony in reality? How would this proposal affect the sanctity of marriage?
