Every agency has its speciality. And more and more, it’s commonplace for clients to avoid putting all their eggs in one basket. Many are bringing several agencies on board to work in tandem.

But how do agencies manage this collaboration process? How do you make sure you can achieve what you need to without ‘project politics’ dragging you down? And how do you get over the awkwardness of sitting in meetings with your competitors?

Amanda McGrath, client services director at Blend B2B, has noticed this has become a popular trend.

“You end up with a specialist ‘parliament’ around you,” she muses. “And it’s interesting because there isn’t necessarily one group that naturally leads this kind of work.”

“On day one of a project, you’re essentially meeting four different groups of strangers. You’ve got to get to know them all, they have to get to know you and understand how you work… I’m interested in what approaches people use to build their inter-agency relationships.”
