While we hope you didn’t miss our July 21st monthly meeting, the news is so exciting in LD20, it bears repeating. If the voter turnout during the primaries for LD20 is any indication of what’s in store for the general election then we won’t be in the last third of the LDs in Maricopa County for turnout. We heard how voter turnout in LD20 has improved in 2020 when compared to the same time in 2018 and 2016. In fact, Democrat turnout at the time of our meeting was at 12.7% while Republican turnout was at 11.5%. The turnout for those in the oldest age category (65+) is doing the best at 25.8% while the youngest age category (18-24) is the lowest at 4.1%. Statewide, 195,000 Dems returned early ballots as contrasted to 193,000 Reps. We also heard from some of our PCs who made us aware of some exciting activities and worthwhile organizations. In particular, PC Malicki reported on the meaningful work being done by the Tiny House Developers based in Phoenix run by Elizabeth Singleton.
