Webinar: Safe, Connected, and Engaged: Building Responsive & Respectful Relationships with DV Families in Shelter
This workshop will discuss how creating safe and welcoming environments encourages domestic violence families to engage in program services. The presentation will also cover practical strategies and trauma-informed interventions that advocates can utilize to create respectful and responsive relationships with families in shelter settings.
As a result of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Describe two ways to create a safe shelter environment to enhance connections with survivors residing in shelter using the six trauma-informed principles.
2. Describe at least four qualities of a responsive and respectful working relationship.
3. Identify at least one strategy for safely engaging and meaningfully connecting to distressed families in shelter.
