Join Tennessee Women in Green for our monthly program with guest speaker Mary DuBose!
Mary DuBose has worked at CAESER (Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research) at the University of Memphis for 8 years and is currently the Associate Director of Geographic Analysis. She is originally from Nashville and moved to Memphis to study anthropology and environmental science at Rhodes College. Through her role at CAESER, Mary gets the opportunity to advocate for geographic analysis as an important way to address environmental and societal issues.
The talk will cover the importance of geographic and environmental education in helping to create a community of informed and engaged citizens, with the example of educating K-12 students as well as adults in the Memphis area on where their water comes from and how it's supplied to them, with the goal of ensuring aquifer sustainability for future generations.
We'll also have information on upcoming events, updates from our sponsors, and announcements from your TWIG board. So grab your coffee and join us for a morning of sustainable networking!
