Girls and ASD
A Lambeth focussed session looking at the services, schools and support available to girls with ASD and their families. We'll examine the pathway to diagnosis, discuss options for education at primary, secondary and post-16 and look at what's out there to support girls in their journey through childhood and into adult life.

28/09 10.00-11.00 am
Puberty and Periods
A session for parents and carers of girls to look at the emotional and practical challenges of puberty. We'll cover managing periods, coping with body changes, relationships and staying safe.

1/10 10.00-11.00 am
Food issues vary from from restricted diets to over eating and eating disorders. In this session we'll look at some of the underlying causes of behaviour around food, some strategies to try at home and where to go for help.

For all the fliers:

Tanya Williams is the parent of 2 autistic young adults- one girl who has experienced an eating disorder. Tanya worked as a litigator for over 20 years and now runs her own business advising parents on sen support, EHCPs, Annual Reviews and Tribunals. She is also a SOSSEN volunteer.

Brigid Bose is the parent of three girls, two of whom have ASD. Following a career in education, Brigid now works as a facilitator supporting parents of children with ASD. Together with Tanya, she set up Lavender to try to address the lack of services for and understanding of girls with ASD and other neurodevelopmental diagnoses.
