Acupuncture, Acupressure and Other therapies to support medically induced labours

In this session, Kate Levett will discuss the approach to using these techniques within maternity care, where there is an indication for medical induction of labour. Kate has been using these techniques to teach and prepare couples who are having a planned intervention to help support physiological labour and manage the hormonal gaps that may result from intervention, for over ten years.

The use of these techniques to support hospital-based care, with feedback from practitioners, offers clinical information on the potential these techniques have to offer.
