In the aftermath of the liberation in 1945, a shocked world understood the connection between attitudes and actions. In the post-war years, several denominations issued declarations and apologies for the hatred that had been partly fostered in the churches. Since the 1940’s attitudes have changed, and theologies been re-examined. New historical evidence has been put forth. What are some of the factors that influence Christian understanding of the Holocaust? How does the Christian world of today see the Holocaust? Is it a Jewish tragedy or is it our history?
