Workshop: Dismantling Professionalism

Rethink your definition of the commonly used word "Professionalism". We will discuss the roots of professionalism and how it is situated in White Supremacy, racism, and discrimination. We will give you tools on how to unlearn these aspects of professionalism and rebrand the use of the word and how we live it in the workplace.

Learning Objectives

Following this workshop, participants will be able to:
• A basic understanding of the racist roots of professionalism
• Gain first steps in furthering self-reflection of the harm in professionalism
• Gain first steps in undoing the harmful aspects of professionalism
• Gain the understanding to start the rebranding of the term professionalism in the workplace
