Supporting Inquiry-based Learning with News Media Resources
In this short virtual workshop, Neil will highlight how news media is an integral part of research and highlight the importance of sourcing vetted and trusted news information quickly and efficiently.

The goal of this short professional development session is to show Educators how news media can support and empower learners to see the value in multiple global news perspectives and become civic-minded global citizens.

News is current, relevant, and relatable to students. When students see information as applicable, they become engaged and motivated learners. Neil will showcase how an online news research resource provides inquirers of every kind with valuable information on any topic imaginable.

In combining both local and global news coverage, researchers acquire broad and varied perspectives on key issues and events around the world.

By attending this session, participants will:

See how news media can be used for a variety of school research-based projects for example the Extended Essay
Recognize the role primary source material plays in research and education
Understand the tracking of social issues and events
