This Fall, we are providing Wellness Wednesdays Drop-in Support Group for undocumented communities to stay grounded and connected to one another. The intention for the support group is to co-create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive setting with guided prompts to spark meaningful reflection. Topics we’ll explore may include: how to cope with stress and anxiety; dating and navigating platonic or romantic relationships while undocumented; understanding the difference and intersection between sadness, depression, and trauma; recognizing ways that we may respond to colonial trauma and ethnoviolence in our everyday lives; building resiliency by tapping into our ancestral knowledge and intuition; practicing dialectics as we move through the upcoming presidential election; and holding ourselves with compassion while honoring our voices and calls to action.
Beginning October 7, participants will be expected to commit to attending at least 3 consecutive sessions. Coming together as a community has been incredibly helpful for many community members and we would like to further strengthen this virtual space by creating more consistency in attendance. As a support group, rather than a therapy group, we aim to refrain from giving advice, interrupting, or trying to fix one anothers’ problems, and instead focus on offering support by listening deeply and sharing our own stories.
**These gatherings will not be recorded.
