Virtual P.A.R.T.Y. April 4/5 2023
For *Grades 9-12 *

P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol & Risk-Related Trauma in Youth) is a made-in-Canada, internationally-licensed program aimed at reducing the frequency & severity of youth injury. It is reality-based & draws on the experiences of people with direct knowledge of injury, including paramedics, emergency department staff, rehabilitation specialists & injury survivors.

VIRTUAL P.A.R.T.Y. is a modified version of a conventional in-person P.A.R.T.Y. event. SHA Health Educators with Acquired Brain Injury Education & Prevention lead the virtual sessions, which include participation incentives for students & opportunities to interact with speakers. Sessions take place over two days:

Day 1 (April 4 - 9 a.m. to 1030 a.m.) 1.5 hrs
- Introduction to Injury Prevention
- Test Your Injury Prevention Knowledge Kahoot
- Trauma Medicine Presentation
- Injury Survivor Presentation #1

Day 2 (April 5 - 9 a.m. to 1030 a.m.) 1.5 hrs
- Student Opinion Poll
- Rehabilitation & Recovery After Injury Presentation
- Injury Survivor Presentation #2
- What's Your Why? (P.A.R.T.Y. wrap-up)

For optimal learning, it's strongly recommended teachers & students attend BOTH Virtual P.A.R.T.Y. sessions.

After registering, a single Zoom link will be forwarded for both session dates. A follow-up email will also be sent with more detailed information a week before the virtual event. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER & ADD ABI Education & Prevention to your list of contacts (see below) to ensure you receive timely communications from us.
