This workshop is designed for young people (aged 14-29) who are a sibling of someone who has an intellectual disability. We are bringing youth from across the province together to help connect siblings to other siblings, to think about how their experiences impact their lives and wellbeing and to energize and reinforce resiliency in young advocates.
Community Living Ontario’s Youth Advisory Council wants to highlight the role of siblings as important citizens in the building of a more inclusive Canada.
In this workshop you will:
• Engage in conversations about the impact of your experiences as a sibling
• Offer your ideas about how to make Canada a country where everyone belongs
• Explore your role as an advocate and how you can be supported by a larger effort to create change in the lives of the people you love
