Lecture by Tanya Pohrt, Ph.D., Curator, Lyman Allyn Art Museum
Co-hosted by the Lyman Allyn Art Museum and the non-profit group 1636 Heritage Partnership, Inc.
This lecture will examine the Tiffany windows in Hartford's historic Center Church, looking at their history and at the technical and artistic qualities that make Tiffany windows so special. Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) is best known for his brilliant innovations in glass and for the quality and creativity of the work produced by his firm, Tiffany Studios. The Tiffany family has deep roots in Connecticut and an enduring regional legacy that will also be explored in this discussion.
