Attribution analysis of the late June Extreme Heat event
Over the last week of June 2021, the Pacific northwest areas of the U.S. and Western Canada experienced extreme temperatures, with records shattered in numerous locations.
Scientists from the US, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Switzerland collaborated to assess to what extent human-induced climate change made this heatwave hotter and more likely.
Dr. Faron Anslow, Climatologist with the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium in Victoria is a member of the international team, and will be sharing the results of the attribution study for this event.
