As people of faith, we are called by God to stand up against racial injustice and to be stewards of God’s creation. However, because of environmental racism, low income communities of color are disproportionately exposed to environmental hazards. The current pandemic is an urgent reminder that environmental racism has deadly consequences: communities of color are more likely to live in counties that violate air pollution standards, which is directly connected to higher rates of hospitalization and death from COVID-19. This webinar will be led by and include a panel of young people who are actively addressing climate justice in their communities. Whether you are 15 or 85, this webinar will give you tips as people of faith on how to start the conversation, support communities of color, and participate in steps to dismantle environmental racism in your own community.
