During the Interlaw IP / IT meeting at this year’s 2020 Virtual Annual Global Meeting, our speakers will be reviewing the landmark Schrems I and II rulings in the context of the COVID-19 crisis and ask where next for the IP / IT sectors in this most unprecedented of years.
The long-running Schrems saga has significant and far-reaching implications for the future of international data transfer. Our speakers will review the judgments in both cases, the challenges they have presented for the wider IT and data privacy communities and ask where this summer’s outcome of Schrems II, which ruled the much-touted EU / US Privacy Shield to be invalid, leaves industry players looking to forge new data strategies in a new economic landscape.
Our speakers will also discuss where next for the sector in the wake of the COVID crisis, which has seen huge additional reliance on IT systems to facilitate remote working and underpin new e-commerce activity the world over.
There will be plenty of opportunity for meeting participants to ask questions and share their own observations during this interactive session.
SPEAKERS INCLUDE: Hans Dhondt, Janson, Belgium; Dr Felix Klopmeier, Lang & Rahmann, Germany.
