Equal Rights to property and resources is must for Gender Equality

Economic Empowerment of women is the prerequisite for women’s empowerment and gender equality. Equal right on property and resources creates foundation for women’s economic empowerment. Gender-based discrimination and violence is primarily caused by unequal distribution of property and resources; power and dignity. Bangladesh Mahila Parishad has been fighting for equal citizenship for five decades. This year, in the parallel event, the organization considers focus on equal rights of women on property and resources that is the path way to women’s empowerment and gender equality in Bangladesh.
