As a result of the Covid pandemic, many individuals across the country have struggled with the effects of increased stress, isolation, and limited access to services. Because of this, we have seen a significant increase in mental health issues, substance use and overdoses across the United States. Additional concerns include the rates of domestic violence, abuse, and neglect experienced in families. This two-hour training will provide attendees with an in-depth review of these negative effects. Specific trends related to substance use and mental health will be reviewed along with a discussion on the impact these trends have had on individuals and families. The importance of appropriate screening, assessment and treatment interventions will also be highlighted.
