Description
This workshop is for individuals with a criminal protective orders (CPO's) that protects and prevents all contact from the person(s) who has caused harm, a CPO modification is the legal process of changing the protective order so that the accused person in the case can still interact/contact with the protected person as long as the contact is nonviolent and peaceful. The CPO would then change from a "No-Contact Order" to a "Peaceful Contact Order." In order to request a CPO modification, the protected party must first request a referral letter from the judge, probation officer, the District Attorney's Office or the Victim Services Unit in order to attend the 1-hour workshop regarding modifying protective orders, safety planning, resources for survivors of domestic violence, etc. After you complete the workshop / class you will receive a letter as verification of completion to give to the court. A hearing might need to be scheduled where a judge will then grant, partially grant, or deny the modification based on the circumstances of the case.
