A growing number of researchers recognize the potential of researcher-community partnerships. Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) is one approach to working with diverse communities, and is considered one of the keys to reducing mental health disparities. CBPR involves a shared endeavor between researchers, institutions, and communities across all stages of the research process. This session will explain the core values and principles of CBPR, as well as the benefits and challenges of carrying out CBPR.
