As part of SFMMS' Physician Wellness efforts, we are hosting a Culinary Medicine series for our members! Join us for the fourth event in our series with Dr. Emma Steinberg, a Board-Certified Pediatrician and trained chef.
We are encouraging attendees to bring their children (virtually), so that you may all cook and learn together! Dr. Steinberg's session will include a cooking demonstration, where attendees (and their children!) will make easy, plant-forward, and delicious recipes at home that are perfect for weeknights or busy schedules! SFMMS Members, who attend the entire session will receive a gift card to purchase ingredients and a copy of “Vegetable Kingdom,” a cookbook written by local chef and advocate, Bryant Terry, who develops most of his recipes with his kids.
Dr. Steinberg currently is a pediatric hospitalist and she continues to teach culturally-informed, culinary medicine to medical students, residents, patients, and staff. Dr. Steinberg uses her training in medicine, advocacy, nutrition, and culinary arts with a culturally-inclusive lens that seeks to honor and incorporate the cooking traditions of those with whom she works in her healthy cooking classes.
