Integrating Food & Climate Action: A conversation on multilevel action and the Glasgow Declaration (English)

We can no longer overlook the contribution of food systems to the climate crisis nor the fragility of the food system in the face of shocks, such as storms, pandemics, and supply chain disruptions. Achieving a just transition to sustainable food systems requires collaboration across all levels of government and a comprehensive food systems approach.

This webinar will focus on the Glasgow Food and Climate Declaration, a pledge among local governments worldwide to accelerate the development of integrated food policies, and a call on national governments to act. You will hear about the efforts of the Declaration, launched at the UN COP26 climate negotiations in Glasgow, to unite local authorities across the world in calling for joined-up food and climate action. You will also hear from two municipal food policy directors from the US and Canada on their work incorporating a food system perspective in climate action and aligning with multiple levels of government.
