The Three Sisters Webinar: history, culture and ways of growing
"We can't have a meal without the Three Sisters", Mayan Elder Lix Lopez says, highlighting the importance of corn, beans and squash for Mayan diet and culture. Through story-telling, in this talk Elder Lix Lopez will describe the origin of this popular plant sisterhood, their relevance for the Mayan people and other Indigenous peoples in the Turtle Island (also known as North America), and the technique behind the Three Sisters' successful growing in the Coast Salish territory. An option 30 minute Q&A will be hosted at the end of the event.
