Augusta Listening Session

Please join the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network as we gather with Georgians from throughout the Augusta area to learn what your needs, goals, and hopes are for your community. In this listening session, we will collect your thoughts and ideas to create a vision for the future Peer Recovery and Wellness Center of Augusta.

We know based on our experience operating Georgia’s Peer Support, Wellness, and Respite Centers over the past decade what has worked well in other communities, and we hope to introduce many of those things—including respite—to Augusta. We have been providing peer support in the Augusta area for many years, and have gotten to know many of you very well. But in order for us to create a place that is truly responsive to community needs, we need a deeper and broader understanding of how the Peer Recovery and Wellness Center of Augusta can best provide the supports that are needed here. We also know that the economic impact of the pandemic has created changes in the resources that are available, and we hope to gain a better understanding of those as well.
