THE PLASTIC LIFE CYCLE
National Conclave on Plastic Waste Management
Release of CSE Report

Plastic waste management is a global challenge; plastics have become a part of our lives, lifestyles and environment. While they prove to be important in certain
applications, their heedless use is threatening to swamp this world completely.
In recent years, efforts to mitigate the ill effects of plastics have gained traction through the introduction of policies such as single use plastic ban and extended producer responsibility. The Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 has listed plastic waste management as one of its key action agendas. The next five years are going to witness a critical chain of events in defining the way we approach this enormous challenge. The technical capacity of state governments, urban local bodies and other stakeholders will play a pivotal role in achieving a plastic waste-free nation.
It is, therefore, imperative to understand the Life Cycle of Plastic to strategise and streamline our approaches towards managing plastic waste not only in India, but across the globe.
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) invites you to a one-day national conclave to discuss the issue and release its latest report – The plastic life cycle.
A pool of domain experts from the government, industry, research institutes, municipal administrations and other stakeholders will join us to talk about the future of plastic waste management in India.
