Seattle’s Green New Deal is rooted in the value that everyone deserves a healthy future — no matter what zip code they live in, what they look like, or what’s in their wallet. That’s why divesting from the police and reinvesting in community is essential to realizing the City’s Green New Deal commitments, and why we’re proud to stand with the 160+ organizations who’ve now endorsed the #SolidarityBudget (learn more: https://bit.ly/Solidarity206-call-to-action)
Winning a 2021 City Budget that divests from police and re-invests in community-led solutions like affordable housing, healthcare, and good jobs will take many thousands of us, speaking up together.
That's why this fall, 350 Seattle and Sunrise Seattle are teaming up to activate Seattle’s climate community in support of the #SolidarityBudget. We’ll be organizing with love and power: visioning an abolitionist & Green New Deal future; engaging our friends and family; showing up to Council meetings; and keeping the pressure on City leaders to win a budget that values Black lives and a healthy climate future for all.
Co-hosted by 350 Seattle and Sunrise Seattle volunteer leaders, this call is a great way to learn about the #SolidarityBudget, our campaign and plan to win, and how YOU can get involved.
