Yoga for Women (All levels): Befriending Your Body & Shaking the Blues
A woman’s life is characterized by cycles and stages of life. This quarterly class is a gathering of women commonly on the path of yoga in the spirit of research and sharing wisdom, led by Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) Level II, Joy Wasson. We will learn together (and from each other) how to honor and celebrate life and an ever-changing and maturing body, mind, and spirit.

These quarterly sessions are centered around full moons. Reap what you have sown as the Harvest Moon rises on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 5:59 am Eastern. This is also called the Corn Moon, Fruit Moon, Barley Moon, and Hungry Ghost Moon. The Fall Equinox is on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9:04 pm Eastern.

As we conclude the summer months women are constantly reminded of what society determines is a "beautiful body". This summer full moon represents one of re-growth. We will question what society defines as beautiful and discuss how yoga helps us develop a new relationship with our physical, mental, and emotional body.
Yoga focuses on the body from the inside. It centers on strength, flexibility, balance, and breath rather than on appearance. We will learn together how each pose lives within our unique body and how props can help us adjust poses to fit our body’s needs. The key to this will be the power of feeling safe in the class and the sense of kinship and support we feel from one another.

This will be offered in-studio and virtually through zoom. Virtual students will need to have the following props at home to attend: 3-4 blankets, 2 blocks, 2 straps, a chair, and access to a wall and/or long dining table. Prop kits are available for purchase for $75 @
