The "natural" gas industry spends enormous amounts of money to deceive the public into believing that this fossil fuel is clean, safe, and the bridge fuel we need to eventually get to renewable energy.
Locally, Puget Sound Energy spends millions on campaign contributions, lobbying, tobacco style PR campaigns, and constructed a controversial liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and refinery facility on the ancestral tideflats of the Puyallup Tribe that is currently being appealed in court.
Resistance Team meetings will share how to help educate our communities and dispel industry propaganda in creative and artful ways, amplify opportunities to support the Puyallup Tribe and Tacoma communities working to reduce toxic fossil fuel operations on the Tideflats, and explore ways to support the campaign to replace Puget Sound Energy with a publicly owned electric utility in East King County.
