This educational webinar will assist the mental health workforce in understanding the process of acculturation, with a specific focus on dietary acculturation, experiences of hunger, and food insecurity following migration and their impact on health.

Jacinta is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist. She completed her Masters of Dietetics in the Department of Health Sciences at Latrobe University.
She is currently employed as a Dietitian at North West Area Mental Health, where she has a broad range of experience within a youth mental health setting. Her primary responsibility is consulting to young people and consumers on physical health and nutritional concerns. Her clinical areas of interest include Women's Health, Children's Health, Mental Health, and Eating disorders.
Having previously worked as a Team Leader as part of The Victorian Health Monitor, 4000 For Health: The State of our wellbeing project, she has experience and a proven aptitude in collecting detailed 24hr diet recalls.
Jacinta is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), Australia & New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED) Sports Dietitians Association of Australia (SDA), and Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD). She has a passion for advocacy, health justice, preventative healthcare, public policy, translation and communication of evidence into practice and trauma informed clinical care.
