“The Seen consists of the elements and sense organs, and is of the nature of cognition, activity, and stability, and has for its purpose experience and liberation”.
This rendition from ‘The Science of Yoga’ by Professor IK Taimni, describes the three great universal forces of nature known in Sanskrit as:
Sattva (cognition), which reflects the light of consciousness, Rajas (activity), which conducts the light of consciousness, and Tamas (stability), which absorbs the light of consciousness.
Through her study of this subject, Terri will detail the nature of these three great forces as they manifest throughout creation.
She will then examine the ways in which they can be seen to manifest in our individual lives with a view to taking a step towards liberation.
Terri has been a member of the Theosophical Society since 2009, and has had a natural, ongoing curiosity and interest in the study of spiritual subjects since she was young. Over the course of her time with the Society, she has enjoyed attending the Summer Schools as well as many Theosophical study weekends, gaining many insights which she has a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment. In recent years she has given a number of talks at Headquarters on behalf of the Blavatsky Lodge and she continues to attend regular study sessions with the Lodge. Terri regularly practices Qi Gong, Meditation, and Sanskrit Chanting. Her personal interests include Family, Vedic Astrology, Sanskrit, Gardening, and Interior Design.
