Esther Yang is a working mom, New Yorker of the week by NY1 for her work with children, and the creator of bully-free zones in many public schools. For the past 20 years, she has been a community organizer and advocate. As a Judicial Delegate, she successfully brought awareness to ensuring transparency of judicial elections with NYS National Organization for Women and created patient rights booklets as a former Community Board Advisor for Bellevue Hospital. As a former Community Coordinator for then Comptroller and now Senator John Liu, she organized city-wide public events for the under-represented and voiceless community to be heard and counted.
Esther is a health and wellness advocate and educator; yoga, karate and meditation teacher; and has taught chair yoga and self-defense classes for senior centers, public schools, colleges, Gilda's Club, Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright’s Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island Constituents and also as guest speaker on Mind Body Medicine at Cornell medical school. During the pandemic, to lift the spirit of her followers, she became a recipe developer using only 5 ingredients in under 20 minutes (follow her @esther.yang).
