Please join the North & NW Suburban Chicago NOW chapter and Congregation Shir Hadash for this fascinating event.
Nanette D. Massey is a black writer and workshop facilitator living in Buffalo, NY. She speaks with white audiences about having honest, effective conversations about race using Robin DiAngelo‘s runaway best selling book, White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People To Talk About Racism, as a resource people can relate to. Published in 2018, the book went viral during the George Floyd protests in 2020.
Ms. Massey’s purpose is to help her white allies “figure out this whole race thing.” Participants are encouraged to read White Fragility, especially the “White Women’s Tears” chapter in the book before Nanette’s presentation, and to ponder the question, “Why is it inappropriate to wear a white dress to another woman’s wedding?”
