In case you missed our August workshop, join CEBI on December 6th at 2pm ET for a recap workshop to hear and provide feedback on guiding principles and key recommendations that CEBI will take to GHG Protocol in its surveys for the GHG Protocol / Scope 2 Guidance revisions process.
Background: CEBI has been engaged with stakeholders across the voluntary electricity procurement market for over a year on developing positions on improvements to the GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance, which were initially shared at CEBI’s NextGen Activator Workshop #9 in August. This is CEBI’s final workshop on its near-term recommendations to the GHG Protocol before moving on to longer-term conversations about how the GHG Protocol may need to evolve beyond these near-term updates.
Why Attend: Significant changes may be discussed during the GHG Protocol Scope 2 Revisions process that will kick off early next year and could impact customer clean energy accounting and reporting.
Objective: The purpose of this meeting is to get feedback from a broad range of stakeholders and ensure alignment on CEBI’s initial position and recommendations, as well as to give enough notice about the process to empower companies and other stakeholders to submit their own comments to the GHG Protocol. Survey comments are due by February 28th, 2023.
Intended Audience: Energy customers of all sizes, solution providers, EAC registries and issuing bodies, data providers, NGO partners, and other voluntary electricity procurement market stakeholders who want to get up to speed on what’s happening with the GHG Protocol and understand CEBI’s position.
