Calling-In, Not Out: Strategies to Respond to and Initiate Conversations Around Race and Racism
Join SURJ SCC and SCCCCOR for this 2 hour workshop to learn and practice strategies for having difficult conversations around race and racism with family, friends, and even strangers who speak and act in ways that perpetuate racism as all of us white folks do. Calling People In is a term used to engage in these conversations with others while respecting they have opinions that are derived from their own experiences, as are ours. Calling people in vs. calling them out asks us to approach a challenging conversation with curiosity and an authentic desire to learn about the person’s beliefs, as we grapple with our own.

While our workshops are designed for mobilizing white people who benefit from white privileges, all are welcome to join.
