The elevenses are a series of 60 minute webinars around the themes of Youth Work Week 2020.
Running each day through Youth Work Week from 11am to 12noon
Economic and financial wellbeing is an important part of young people’s lives, contributing to their welfare and security. Many young people work in the least secure jobs with the worst conditions. Future employment and careers aspirators are key for young people to thrive. This webinar addresses some reflective themes around the role of the youth worker in supporting young people to access employment and careers of their choice.
1) Do young people have access to further opportunities for study and employment in this current climate? Are youth workers best placed to offer advocacy for employment rights and fair pay? What is our role?
2) From the COVID restrictions, we have had an increase in digital youth work and digital youth work training. What other training needs and support do you and your organisation need through COVID restrictions and in the future to support young people into employment?
3) Within the youth work sector can we truly offer opportunities to develop and build entrepreneurship, building on young people’s skills, interests, and passions? How do we do this or how can we do this? Is there a skills gap for youth worker to support entrepreneurs?
