In a world that values academic excellence and material success over spiritual growth, why should parents pay attention to their children's spiritual health and maturity? What does the Bible say the role of parents is? And how can parents be effective disciple-makers in their own home? This series of workshops aim to answer the questions of why faith at home is so critical, and how, with practice and lots of heart, any parent can fulfil the mandate of Proverbs 22:6 - “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
1. Understand the Biblical role of parents in bringing up their children;
2. Understand the unique parent-church partnership in a child's spiritual formation;
3. Understand and apply the basic principles of leading a family devotion time; and
4. Write a simple family devotional lesson plan that can be used and shared.
This is a 2-part course held on 2 days (23 May and 30 May, 2-4pm). Your registration is for both sessions. We highly encourage parents to attend the workshop as a couple (only one registration needed), so that dad and mum can lead your children to grow in the Lord together.
