In this class we’ll cover the three pillars of our program: Breathing, Postural assessment, and Movement initiation. You will be introduced to simple breathing exercises to improve attention and relax your mind. You will also be guided on how to incorporate these exercises into your everyday life. Postural assessment refers to the alignment and position of our bodies in relationship to others and to the space around us. By understanding our postural position, we can prepare our bodies to initiate movement. Through movement initiation we will work with our body weight and learn how to shift it back and forth and side to side to initiate a tango walk, a fundamental tango step, and eventually a sequence of tango dance patterns. No partner required.
